Pasta for youth trip

The third annual Local Zest Fest will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Ring Bros. Marketplace at 485 Route 134, South Dennis. This year, the festival is supporting Cape Kids Meals, which provides children with food over the weekends during the school year. A raffle with multiple prizes will be held to benefit the nonprofit and a representative will be on hand to provide information.The festival is free and open to the public and will feature samples from gourmet purveyors around Cape Cod and Massachusetts. Also, each store within the marketplace will be offering samples, including Chatham Fish & Lobster’s scallop mac ‘n cheese, Spinner’s pizza, Nata’s Noodles store-made pasta, Montilio’s Bakery cakes, Dark Horse Beef & Deli’s meat marinades and fresh juices and smoothies at Ring’s Juice Bar. In addition, Harney’s Wine & Liquors will be offering samples of locally made beers, wines and liquors. John Shaw, a Cape Cod-based musician, will provide entertainment.
Spring wine dinner
The Cape & Islands Boy Scout Council is putting on a Spring Wine Dinner and Silent Auction fundraiser to benefit Boy Scout outreach projects on Cape Cod. The event is at 6:30 p.m. April 6 at the The Riverway Lobster House, 1338 Route 28 in South Yarmouth. Join local scouter and wine industry veteran Bruce Cole from Dreyfus, Ashby & Co. in a meal that features baked brie, homemade fried mozzarella, bruschetta, baked Cotuit oysters, lobster and crab chowder, rack of lamb, short ribs of beef, mushroom risotto, pear-infused cheesecake and more. Eat to help
The Riverway Lobster House at 1338 Route 28 in South Yarmouth will hold a fundraiser to benefit the Dennis Yarmouth Ecumencial Council to Prevent Homelessness (DYECPH) from 11:30 a.m. to closing Friday, April 7. Present a council flyer to your server when you order, and 10 percent of your total food purchase will go to the group to help prevent homelessness on Cape Cod.
