In-Depth with the Lemonade Diet
Posted in Diet Recipe Tips on Apr 27,2010

If you would hear about the Lemonade Diet you may actually think it’s a fad diet. Its known results appear quite the same as those offered in such league. To set the record straight, this was intended as a cleansing diet to begin with based from the book written by Stanley Burroughs sometime in the 70’s. It was an aid to help people remove toxin build up in the body and it was only later on that people have been motivated by it with the bonus of weight loss result. Since then, more and more people have looked past the original purpose of this beverage and simply enjoyed its benefit for weight loss.

So how does it work? It’s so simple to prepare. All you need is to extract a lemon for juice, mix it up with water, maple syrup and cayenne pepper.

It should be the only consumption one must take for an entire 2 weeks. The only nutrients that would be provided are the ones that come from the drink itself.

It is easy to adjust this drink, from one glass serving to a lemonade diet recipe gallon. In example for one glass you will need:

  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 10 ounces of filtered or purified water

In stage 1, dieters are expected to consume about 6 glasses of this detoxifying drink daily and continuously for 3 days. In this light it would be convenient to have a prepared lemonade diet recipe gallon, You can add some supplements to this diet such as using the salt water flush or any herbal tea laxative you prefer during the late parts of the day.

Once the first stage has been completed, you can start consuming solid foods back again into the diet. Gradual introduction is needed which means you can add in foods such as vegetable soups or some small serving of fruits and veggies. There are no fitness regimen prescribed during this stage this is because the caloric intake is too low to provide the energy that exercise routines would require.

This is also the straightest answer you would find as to why a lot of people lose weight during this cleansing diet. They are bound for a dangerously low consumption of calories that would eliminate excess water weight and even some muscle weight as well.

Understanding that there are certain downsides should be considered with utmost understanding. For one, you would be depriving your body of essential nutrients for a week which is why there are certain symptoms that would be present in the equation such as headaches, nausea and weakening.

It is best to seek medical advice first and have your body diagnosed if it can carry out the program to its final stage. And to help you maintain your ideal weight after the cleansing, it would be best to have a long-term weight loss plan at bay. It means a change in lifestyle, free from vices and only adherence to healthy eating and religious workout routines.
